The year is 2382. The Federation continues to recover from the devastation of the Dominion War that nearly tore the galaxy apart. Starfleet has returned to it original mandate as the Federation's exploration and defensive organization once more. To fulfill this change in its operational mandate, Starfleet has begun construction on new star ships to replace those lost during the Dominion War, only with the goal of peaceful exploration in mind during the design and construction of these new ships.

Among the first of post Dominion War starships built by Starfleet is the USS Endeavour. A next generation Sovereign class starship, the Endeavour has been specifically designed and built to fulfill Starfleet's primary objective of peaceful deep space exploration. Equipped with the latest in the Federation’s most cutting edge technology, the USS Endeavour has been tasked to explore and patrol deep space beyond the borders of the Federation, and continue to carry out Starfleet’s oldest order: “To boldly go where none have gone before”.
